Wilmette's historic CAGE neighborhood takes its name from four streets: Chestnut, Ashland, Greenwood and Elmwood.  The CAGE has stately old homes, broad brick streets with deep setbacks, beautiful old street lights, lush landscaping and a dense tree canopy. Most of the homes were built between the 1890s and 1930s, although there's an occasional newer home.

A Guide to Moving to Winnetka provides a nice overview about this village.
